Thank you for your interest in Lighthouse Gift Company's products. Below are some questions that we are frequently asked about our candles. If you have additional questions, please contact us.

Where are your candles made?

All of our gifts are made in Oregon. We are a family-owned business, and we pride ourselves on handmade gifts that use ingredients from North America wherever possible.

Which type of wax burns the longest?

If you were to use the same container for a candle made from paraffin, gel, and soy waxes, the gel candle will burn the longest followed by soy candles.

When will my products ship?

Most of our products are handmade to order. Because of this, the products normally ship within three to five business days.

Why is my candle smoking?

The most common causes of a smoking candle are due to it being in a location where there is a wind current and from the wick being too long. It is recommended to trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each time you burn a candle.

My soy candle becomes blotchy when it burns. Why?

Soy wax has a tendency to shrink as it cools. After you burn it, it is common for it to appear blotchy - but it just adds character.

What should I be aware of when burning candles?

When burning your candle, please burn responsibly:
* Keep the candle away from drafts and flammable material (such as paper)
* Burn ice candles on a candleholder that is at least 10 inches in diameter
* Be aware that jars get hot, so do not handle them while they are burning or immediately after
* Keep burning candle away from children and pets
* Do not allow wick trimmings or other materials to fall into the candle
* Burn candles on a heat-resistant, non-flammable surface for no longer than three hours at a time
* Stop burning when down to approximately 1/2 inch of wax remaining
* Never leave a burning candle unattended
